Reminder

The same way your manufacturer writes it: whichever comes first. A service schedule is almost never a plain date — it reads something like "12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first."

The app tracks both halves and counts down from the one that will run out sooner. The vehicle screen names it explicitly, under the two tiles: "Distance will run out before time", or the reverse.

Yes, and it is set per car. Tap the slider icon at the top right of a vehicle, then switch Track by time or Track by distance off. A car that sits in a garage all year is best tracked by time alone; a delivery van by distance alone.

iOS can only deliver a notification on a date, so a distance limit has to be turned into one. The app does that by working out how fast you actually accumulate distance.

It needs at least two odometer readings, taken at least ten days apart. From those it derives a distance-per-day figure, and projects the date you will reach the limit. Until it has that, the vehicle screen says so rather than inventing a date.

The estimate is recalculated every time you open the app, so it stays honest as your driving changes.

Because a distance estimate built on a reading from four months ago is a guess, and a reminder built on a guess is worse than no reminder. If a car's last reading goes stale, the app asks for a fresh one.

If you would rather it did not, turn off Odometer check-ins in Settings. Distance tracking keeps working; it just gets less accurate as time passes.

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Worth checking, in order:

1. In the app: Settings → Reminders is on.
2. In iOS Settings → Notifications → Oil Change Reminder → Allow Notifications is on.
3. The delivery time under Settings → Time of day has not already passed for that day.
4. Focus or Do Not Disturb was not suppressing it.

One more case that surprises people: a car tracked by distance only has no date to fire on until the app has worked out your driving rate. Add a second odometer reading and the reminder appears.

Your history syncs through your own private iCloud. On the new device:

1. Sign in to the same Apple Account you used before.
2. iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Drive is on.
3. Open the app and give it a moment while it pulls down. The first sync can take a minute on a slow connection.

In the app, Settings → iCloud sync tells you whether syncing is active. If it says Unavailable, the device is not signed in to iCloud.

Swipe left on any entry under History to delete it. Deleting an oil change also removes the odometer reading it created, so a mistyped figure stops skewing the driving-rate estimate.

To change a car's interval, name, colour or reminder lead time, tap the slider icon at the top right of its screen.

Settings → Units. Everything already entered converts automatically: distances are stored independently of the unit you read them in, so nothing is lost or rounded away by switching.

Completely. The app makes no network requests of its own — everything is computed on your device. iCloud sync catches up whenever you are back online, and reminders fire regardless.

Deleting the app removes its data from that device. To clear the synced copy as well, go to iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, and remove the app's data there.
